Principal's Message    
In this present trend of globalization, one cannot afford to tread on the path of life as a lone figure. One cannot remain aloof from his civilization and society.
I am, therefore, extremely pleased by the founding of the Central School for Tibetans, Darjeeling Alumni Association which aims to bring the ex-students of the School back to their Alma Mater.
 
           Nearing its Golden Jubilee, the School has witnessed great a many events, undergone progressive changes and cared and groomed thousands of students who have finally left the school to live on their capabilities and make their own destinies...more
           
 




President's Message    
Many a times we have dwelled upon the past, lived on the memories of our “ golden school days” when care , caution and concern were just strangers to us.
It was during those innocent carefree school life we had cemented our lifelong friendship and learned the rudimentary skills needed for life. Travelling down varied memory lanes makes us sometimes feel nostalgic, chokes the throat and eyes swell with  tears while
 
sometimes they create an aura of laughter around us. We even long to hear those funny nicknames which earlier made us blush or angry but now they bring a wide smile to our faces. In the midst of all our respective responsibilities and anxieties of our adulthood, with our shoulders heavy with our own burdens, I am certain all will agree that deep down each one of us miss our old friends and those carefree days when we were just students...more

Alumni meeting
The CSTD alumni Association, Darjeeling had convened a meeting at Manjushree Institude. All were overwhelmed with joy to receive very positive responses from several ex-school mates expressing their joy at the founding of its Alumni Association as the main umbrella. After reviewing the previous minute’s agenda, the members discussed about the possible projects for the school. All unanimously agreed about the water reservoir project as the most urgent matter to resolve the water crisis in the school. Due to the Class X and XII Exams, political unrest in Darjeeling as well as in Tibet, the alumni could not convene a general body meeting as proposed in the month of March or April.

The CBSE Board Exam Over
This year around 54 students including both Arts and Commerce streams of Class XII had appeared for the CBSE-2008 along with 65 students of Class X smoothly. Their Exams were over on 2nd and 4th of April respectively.

38th Graduation Day observed
On 19th March, 2008, the school observed its 38th graduation day. All the associations of Tibetan community attended and offered scarves to the outgoing students on this auspicious gathering of their last day school life. The first graduation day was held in April, 1971 for the first batch of 11 students. The day was ended with the emotional speeches given by the school captain Master Tamdin Tsewang and Master Tenzin Nyima and Miss Sneha Chettri. The day was followed by the group photo session.

Special Career counseling
The school career and counseling cell and counselor, Miss Choekyila ( North east zone under DOE, Dharamsala ) conducted a special counseling for the outgoing students regarding the choice of careers, subjects and application for the scholarship. At the end of questionnaire and career magazine, DUNLAM was distributed.

The Co curricular activities
The 2008 session’s co curricular activities began with “Thinking Day” on 22nd Feb, 2008 by the Scouts and Guides unit. The garlanding of Portrait of founder of the scouting and guiding international movement was followed by all faith prayers and other activities. Finally a pledge was taken by those present “Not to litter the school campus”

Tibetan Poetry Recitation
On 5th afternoon, The inter class poetry recitation in Tibetan was held from Class 1 to X dividing them into four houses.

Photography Workshop
Two months photography workshop is going on for classes IX and X since the end of Feb, 2008 under the guidance of Mass Communication Department of St. Joseph College.

Construction Work in progress
Much awaited school boundary wall construction has begun. New Kitchen and dinning hall work will soon began and reflooring of Boys hostel and classrooms are going on.

Class XI result declared The result of Common Annual Examination of class XI declared. Out of 105, 2 students failed and 5 are placed in supplementary.

New Scout and guides recruited
Now every Friday afternoon, special activities for the scouts and the guides will be held. They have to come in their scout and guide uniforms.

Institutional Heads exchange Program visit
As a part of institutional Head exchange program to enrich knowledge, Mr Lhundup Namgyal, Head Master, TCV, Suja, Dharamsala is here in the school from 8th to 11th April,2008.

Book Exhibition
The School Library Committee has organized an attractive “BOOK Exhibition” for a week from 9th to 14th April. The students visited the Library in classwise.

New School Captains and the Prefects elected
Master Sangay Rinchen, Class XII and Miss khando pema, Class XII were elected as Head Boy and Head Girl for this session along with 16 prefects, four from each house on 16th April.

School Annual day function
On 17th April, School organized its annual day function. The chief guest for the day was Mrs. Norzin Norbula, the Administrator of Himalayan Nursery school, Darjeeling and other invitees were the all the presidents of all NGOs of Tibetan community. The prizes for position holders in the field of academic and co curricular activities were gave away by the chief guest. The Principal had presented the annual report comprising of the academic and cultural achievements of the school for 2007 and also on going construction works of the school. New kitchen and dinning hall construction will be carried out soon. The chief guest also gave short speeches which was very motivating and inspiring to students to achieve higher and still higher.
