Constitution
1.         Name : The name of the trust shall be "Central School for Tibetans Darjeeling Alumni Association".

2.         Registered Office : The registered office of the Trust shall be at C/O Secretary, E-3, Third Floor, Golden Heights, 1-Gandhi Road, Darjeeling or any other place the Board of Trustees may decide upon from time to time.

3.         Objects :

  1. To bring together all former students of CST, Darjeeling in order to maintain contact among each other and with the Alma Mater.
  2. To foster fellow feeling and unity among all ex-students of CST, Darjeeling.
  3. To establish, maintain and conduct a social body of the ex-students of CST, Darjeeling with a purpose of promoting literature, cultural and academic.
  4. To renew school acquaintances to keep the Alumni in touch with their Alma Mater and to assist the school in furthering its interests and realizing its objectives.
  5. To provide aid to needy students directly or indirectly through scholarships.
  6. To help ex-students either to find employment and/or source of livelihood.
  7. To promote and cultivate feelings of unity, fellowship, spirit of self-help and co-operation among its members.
  8. To assist indoor and out-door games and sports.
  9. To engage and assist in such other philanthropic activities as may be deemed appropriate by the Board of Trustees.
  10. To raise funds in cash or otherwise and to receive any gifts, donations or foundation in cash or other moveable property of all types and descriptions and immoveable property and to use the same for achieving the objects of the Trust.
  11. To subscribed or give donations to and to give aid to any charity financially or otherwise.
  12. To accept donation, endowment and gift from foreigners or from foreign countries on compliance with the Government rules and regulations of the Government of India.
  13. Provided, however, that the entire income from the properties held for the Trust and all donations and money received towards the Corpus of the Trust shall be utilized and spent strictly and exclusively for the benefit of the Public at large and for the objects of the Trust.

4.         Membership:
Admission :

  1. The Signatories to this Deed of Trust shall be the first members of the Trust.
  2. The Board of Trustees may admit to membership any person in good standing who
  • Has been a student of CST, Darjeeling
  • Is a teacher with at least three academic years or
  • A retired teacher of CST, Darjeeling
  • And who have agreed in writing to be bound by the rules and regulations of the trust and who in the opinion of the Board of trustees will be interested in the advancement of the aims and objects of the trust.

FEES

  • Membership fees shall be Rs.60/- (India/Bhutan/Nepal) per annum or a one-time amount of Rs.2500/- for Life Membership. International membership fees shall be USD: 12.00 per annum or one-time amount of USD.250/- for Life Membership. The said amounts may increase from time to time by Board of Trustees.
  • Types of Members:
  • Ordinary Members: Any person qualified (Ex-students or Ex-teachers) to be a member and paying the prescribed membership fees may be admitted as an ordinary member of the Trust.
  • Life Member: Any ordinary member paying prescribed subscription for a Life Member in one installment may become of life member of the Trust.
  • Honorary Member: The Principal of the School and the Rector of CST, Darjeeling shall be honorary members of the Trust. Any person who has distinguished himself/herself by virtue of his/her meritorious service in furtherance of its aims and objectives shall also be its members on the recommendation of the members of the Trust. Such members shall not however, be eligible to be the members of the Board of Trustees nor shall they be eligible to vote in any meeting.

5.           Meeting :
Annual General Meeting:

  1. There shall be an Annual General Meeting of the Trust.
  2. Notice : The Secretary shall call the Annual General Meeting once in a year. The notice shall be sent to all the Members containing the place, date, and time of the meeting.

Agenda :

The business to be transacted at the Annual General Meeting shall be:

  1. To confirm that minutes of the last Annual General Meeting and any special general meeting, if any.
  2. to adopt with or without modification the report of the working of the Association for the previous year ended;
  3. to pass the audited account of the Association for the previous year ended;
  4. to appoint a qualified Auditor or Auditors;
  5. to transact such business as may be fixed by the Board of trustees;
  6. to transact such other business as may be brought forward by giving 14 days previous notice for any members and
  7. to conduct election of the Board of Trustees.

Quorum of the Meeting two third of the members of the total membership of the trust meeting shall constitute the quorum.
Manner and Method of Voting:  The chairperson of the Meeting shall decide the manner and method of voting at the onset of the Meeting.

6.      Meeting of the Board of Trustees:     

A Meeting of Board of Trustees shall be held at least once in three month at such place and time as the President or Secretary may determine. Any four members of the Board of Trustees may requisition the meeting and the Secretary shall summon the same within seven days and failing which the President or the requisitionist may do so provided no business other than specified in the Notice shall be transacted at such Meeting (Extra ordinary meeting).

7.      Duties and Functions of Office Bearers:

President :

  1. He/She shall preside over all the meetings of the Trust.
  2. He/She shall take all disciplinary action such as removal, dismissal, etc in consultation with the Board of Trustees.
  3. He/She shall advice the Secretary in any matter requiring urgent attention.
  4. He/She shall call emergency meeting.
  5. He/She shall take effective steps for the proper implementation of the Rules and Regulations made by the Board of Trustees or any of the committees or sub-committees.

Vice-President :
In the absence of the President, the Vice-President shall perform all the duties of the President.

Secretary :

  1. The Secretary shall convene all Meeting of the Association.
  2. He/She shall maintain Minute Book of all Meeting.
  3. He/She shall issue General Circulars and Notices.
  4. He/She shall receive all application for Membership, which shall be placed before the Board of Trustees.

Joint Secretary :
In the absence of the Secretary, the Joint Secretary shall perform all the duties of the Secretary or perform such duties and function as may be delegated to her/him by the Secretary or the Board of Trustees.

Treasurer :
  1. Treasurer shall collect and receive all sorts of subscriptions and donations and deposit of money and grant receipts thereof.
  2. He/She shall maintain and keep Cash Book and such other account as are necessary.
  3. He/She shall operate Bank Account jointly with the Secretary or the President or both.
  4. He/She shall prepare the budget in consultation with the Secretary for consideration of the Board of Trustees.

 Public Relation Officer :

  1. Public Relation Officer shall co-ordinate among the members of the Trust relating to all the activities.
  2. To disseminate the quarterly report of the Trust activities.
  3. To disseminate the prior information/notice of all kinds of activities to all its members either through the cluster of alumni or personally for the effective network.
  4. To update the activities of Alumni through the Web-site.
