The school is proud of topping the class XII (All India Senior Secondary School Examinations)
amongst the schools of CST in India. The Association extends its congratulation to the Principal and the staff for their dedication and hard work for producing the quality and quantity result. Keep it up the same spirit!
The torrential rain caused landslides along main passage to the senior block and Girl’s dormitory piled up the mudflow on the main football ground, also the damaged the main septic tank and its feeder from the sub septic tank sewer of girl’s toilet, which overflowed and foul spread the neighboring locality drew the complained by the inhabitants and also the landslides from the slope of beneath the football ground blocked the road leading to Tibetan Refugee Self Health Centre. All the staff and student under the supervision of the Principal and Rector had put up all efforts to remove the debris and piled up the sand sacks from the further damage temporarily.
The President of Alumni Association, Darjeeling had bore all the expenses for revamping new electrical lines which was earlier haphazardly connected and there was every chances of short circuit at that point of time. Initially, requested amount was Rs 10,000/-However, the actual expenses incurred was exceeded more than Rs.20,000/- has also been given by him. Since then, school could able to hold all activities with the perfect fitting of lights and also the same dais have been utilized for the community programs from time to time, for which the Principal, staff and students would like to say “Thank You” to the President of Alumni, Ven. Ngawang Tenzingla for his act of kindness and generosity.

The issue of New Admission form and rules pertaining to admission to the class XI had already been put up on school’s notice board a week ago. Also the names of successful candidates after the interview are also being displayed on the board, such test and interview were conducted for candidates who hails from non CST school. However, students who passed the Class X from CST are given admission directly as per guidelines of CTSA, Delhi.

Almost all the members of Executive had a meeting on 14th June at Manjhushri Centre for Tibetan Culture Gandhi Road. The agenda on the meeting focused on the review of the previous action plan, settlement of accounts for the last six months, finalization on the procurement and purchasing of mini truck water carrier, immediate areas where the association can help the school, handing over the truck to the school with terms and condition and then concluded with to hold next meeting about the date of handing over.

CSTD alumni Association Darjeeling express its sincere gratitude to all members in the New York for their generous donation USA $ 4200 through the Mr. Tenzing Tashi or its Indian currency Rupees Two Lakh One Thousand Nine hundred and Fifteen only (Rs 210915 ) towards the purchase of Mini-Truck for the Alma-Mater to ferry the Ration, Cylindrical Cooking gas and Water for the Kitchen. We would purchase the same, moment the exact amount of Rupees more than four and half lakh could pooled from other donators.

The new academic session for 2009 had begun from 9th February, 2009. The Principal and the Rector had warmly welcomed both the boarders and day scholars after their winter vacation during the morning assembly on the same day and wished them a very successful session. All the staff and students had turn up on time. The admission for new comers is going on, mostly hailing from Tezu, Mao, Gangtok, Bomdila besides the day scholars enrolment.

Our project on the water crisis in the school is still under active consideration for the implementation. Although we could managed the half the amount required from the alumnus in New York, which was received through their representatives Mr.Tenzin Tashila and Miss. Yangchenla amounting to Rs 210921/- and Rs. 82,744/- respectively to buy the Mini-truck mainly to carry and collect the water from the near by spring source. In the recent past, we received and realized a donation of Rs 30,000/- from the Khenpo Tsewang Gyatsola from Penor Rinpoche’s monastery and also Rs 5000/- from Kapkho Sonam Lhazom and Kapkho Tenzin Lhamo. We express our sincere gratitude to each of them for their generous act for the Alma-maters project to come true.

The Principal, staff and students would like say Thanks to the President of CST Alumni Association, Darjeeling Ven. Ngawang Tenzinla for sponsoring Rs. 10,000/- to revamp the electrical lines in main stage of school Multi-purpose hall, which is the main dais to conduct the school co-curricular activities as well as for community for the same to observe the important occasions.

The executive members hold its last leg of meeting of 2008 on 30th Novembers 2008 at the Manjhushree Tibetan Cultural Centre of to review the activities for the current year. The President had expressed his sincere thanks to all its members for their collective work and team spirit for the execution of its aim and objectives for this year, especially, the grand success of First Annual general Body meeting. The Treasurer read out the income and expenditure for the 2008. Also to make aware of our update activities to all and the school up date events from time to time.

We the executive members would like to say a deepest gratitude to The Manjhushri Tibetan Cultural Centre, Darjeeling for allowing us for all the time to conduct all the meetings as Venue and also the help rendered in the official work of any sort as and when sought.

The Central School for Tibetans, Darjeeling is through the Winter Vacation with effect from 21st December 2008 for forty five days. However, the students of class X and XII will report on 12th January 2009 to attend the winter coaching classes to prepare them for All India CBSE in the ensuing March 2009. The New Academic session will begin from 9th February 2009.
