In this present trend of globalization, one cannot afford to tread on the path of life as a lone figure. One cannot remain aloof from his civilization and society.

Message from the President
Many a times we have dwelled upon the past, lived on the memories of our “ golden school days” when care, caution and concern were just strangers to us.

Message from the Rector, CST Darjeeling
I may start by congratulating the members and the people behind the Central School for Tibetans Alumni Association, Darjeeling who are actively and selflessly engaged in the day to day activities of the association. Your care and concern towards your old school will certainly make a great difference to the education of the Tibetans in the long run. There is an old Chinese saying “When planning for a year, plant corn; when planning for a decade, plant trees; when planning for life, educate people.” Hence, you are assisting us in planning for life by educating our young Tibetans who are the future seeds of our great nation – Tibet.

The role of today’s school is not only to impart knowledge but also to enable the children to know the world outside the classroom. It is the role of the school to build and strengthen character that will help not only in the adulthood but also to develop qualities of good leadership that can be utilized in the future for the creation of our great nation - Bod.

This school has witnessed thousands of students graduating and as well as hundreds dropping out. Many have succeeded and many more are doing fairly well in their life. To this day, the school has remained triumphant, always in the service of others as our motto exclaims. However, the achievements of these long years have not been an easy one. It has gone through lots of struggles and is still going on even to this day. These days, the schools all over the world are in a big dilemma in confronting the consequences of the modern evils. These evils are not only distracting the learning and the school discipline but also affecting the individual health of the students. So, your positive contributions towards this school and our constant effort and the sense of responsibility will help to shape our students in right manner.

Our school is going to be 50 years old in a few days and we are lucky enough to participate in the celebration. The financial and leadership contributions from the alumni to mark the Golden Jubilee celebration are immensely praiseworthy and am very grateful to everyone. I am looking forward to hear your part of story and the suggestions and support to build the very school that we are all so proud of.

Sincerely yours,
Dawa Tashi, Mr.

Alumnis' Outlook

kalsang DakpaCST Darjeeling is the institution that helped me find my wings to fly over the vast sea of uncertainty with some degree of confidence and intelligence. It was at this institution where I was first confronted with the real self that was incompetent but later with the guidance of teachers and the learning environment had made me realized the actual meaning of my life. It gave me a sense of responsibility and guided me towards my goal; it sharpens my focus and encourages me to excel myself to the fullest of my potential.

Honestly at the time of my departure there was lots of positivity in me about my coming future, and wherever I went I never felt myself lacking in any aspect, I was totally at ease in all respect, because basic foundation that was laid at this institution was more than strong enough to withstand any test of time. I did well wherever I went, I left an impact wherever I visit, I made good friends and I was very comfortable at it. All that we practice at CST Darjeeling were actually design carefully to create a better human being.

This is the school where I spent the most beautiful days of my life and although I may not have become what this institution would want me to, but whatever I learn in the process had made me a better human. So I owe a lot to this school. Thank you CST Darjeeling.

Oh, it feels so good to be back, dipping back in the memories that were so long gone, almost diminishing to nothing when the site of our hall all brought back those long gone thoughts and instantly refreshed me. Though i just studied there for 4 years, my strongest memories of my school life is always lies with CST Darjeeling. There i made some unforgettable friends and of course it is where my elder Brother and Sister studied, hence, we have a strong family background as well.

Last but not the least, when i first saw the school hall, I could not help but see myself swinging the rock hard Tingmo's from the hall window to the pretty ladies down there fluttering their blue skirt into the chilly Darjeeling weather.

This is a great alumni to gather all the withered ex-CSTians.
